They only seem cheaper at first glance. That is not considering the other things that have to be done. Search this board for SOA Conversions, then do a Google search. It is a lot more than slappin some parts on the axle and puttin the springs on top.

only major problem that can't be overcome by an experienced and knowledgeable mechanic (and, of course, a "goodly amount" of money) is that the Jeep will sit close to 4 1/2 feet above ground and you'll have to climb to get into your Jeep! Not a good choice if you still use your Jeep as a daily driver. Personally, I've found the experience and the SOA assembly to have been almost worthy of the money I've spent for "accessories" to get it done. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

as stated above, this is not a two hour throw it on deal, it takes time , you have shock perch angles to figure out, and making sure things are straight. I will say I love the way Flatty bends and flexes. this is however a play rig and not my daily driver However it is street legal and fun to run to the store in. top speed is about 50 and that has the 538 gears turning like a windmill in a Tornado. We just finished an '87 wrangler spring over. It rides like a Cadillac on the road, and flexes great off-road. We did a shackle reversal up front also, this makes a big difference. It will ultimately not be cheaper than a spring-under kit. The labor is what makes it more expensive. This is not something that you want to buy a kit for and do the conversion in your driveway unless you are an accomplished mechanic. However, the ride and function of your Jeep after a spring-over makes it well worth the time and money in my opinion.
