Yup, still a few things to get used to but, I think I'm adjusting fairly well... Since I'm driving another Zu I think I'll be ok! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> Welcome to Texas! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> Richard <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

I wonder if one of these would fit in the case of those nonstandard 98 Amigo 4.77's? Seems like a reasonable chance. But then again, this type of locker in a front application probably isnt a real good idea. Andy

I was wondering that exact thing <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I'm getting rid of my 98 Amigo 4.77's, but I also happen to have a spare carrier from the same application. It's worth a try. You can have it Matt, but you have to come to Uwharrie to pick it up <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />Andre

Nope, they won't fit the odd ball 98 carrier. I tried. The opening is physically too small to get the unit in where the spider gears had been. Heres a pic of the size difference between my '98 Amigo "odd-ball carier" and the '99 Trooper part I used for the install. The difference is as much as it looks. Trooper on the left, Amigo on the right ![[Linked Image]](http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n280/muskyamigo/carriersize.jpg) One thing I am curious about though. It looks like the SOTF front ends are the same as the non SOTF units, and they just bolted the SOTF unit on to the end of the old housing. anyone know for sure? -Mike

Still coming to Uwharrie Matt? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />Andre

Honestly, I didn't try. It was easy enough to find a front third member with the correct gears in it, so I use that and all of the parts that came with it (minus the odd TOD pinion flange)
From what I recall, I don't believe the 98 gears fit anything but the 98 third member.
Also I couldn't fit the standard third member in the 98 housing.
oh yeah, the cross shaft was also considerably smaller in the 98 differential.
