I am trying to purchase a 2000 Amigo 4X4 for my son. It does have the V-6, but no LSD. Would these lockers mentioned in this thread fit the 2000 Amigo? What effect will it have on gas mileage? My son is a poor college student <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />.

Too many 4x4's, not enough time or money

The 10-bolt locker will fit the front of that Amigo. The 12-bolt rear would work in a 1st gen (89-94) Amigo. The 2nd gens (98+) have D44 rears.

Read the first post. It specifically states if the Aussie lockers will work in a Trooper of your year or not. Only other options for the rear are an ARB or welding it up.

The Aussie locker sounds great. Must have one...question: is it a LSD or full lock?
also how do I strengthen the front IFS and increase travel of my rody without lifting?

It is a locker.

The short answer is, you can't...not without mucho fab work anyway. The only way to increase IFS travel to any significant degree is to make longer control arms, like the desert racers use. Which involves modifying pretty much everything in the front end...steering, axles, suspension, EVERYTHING.

The nice thing about the locker is that it allows you traction even when your IFS doesn't keep both wheels on the ground...

we have a good list going for the rears.

i would say we are now in the "prodution" phase. i am patiently waiting.

updaye on the fronts: we are over 1/2 sold on the front production run. DON'T put it on the back burner....if you want a front .....go a head and buy one while we are still waiting on the rears.

thanks for the support guys.
