94 4-Runner some times the rear window works ok & other times it's super slow & even stops when trying to go in either direction. I first thought it was the cold weather. Any tips on this? I did lube the channel with WD40. Thanks

Using which control? OR does it matter. Sounds like dirty contacts.

Either control, same result. The tailgate is rusty, maybe not grounding right?

Could be; that seems to be a chronic problem area.

I have the same 4runner as you and I find that this happens in winter only too. I have been told that the rubber seal gets dry and you should only use a certain type of silicone on it???? I have not tried it myself...I just pull up my window.
