i also installed a 12" jl audio under the rear drivers side seat (in the storage compartment),,i made the box the same size and shape as the hole,,,, wow i didn't know that you would be able to fit a 12" sub there. that why i went with a 10" it just barely goes from side to side.

when i had my regular cab i mounted 2 6"s to the doors and i had regular windows. they barely fit but it worked. then i had a qlogic truck box that mounted directly to the back wall. the xcab is much nicer for setting up stereo.

Hey all...thanks a ton for your input! It was all very helpful. I really want to avoid hacking anything up. I really like the option of putting 6 1/2's in the storage openings under the xtra cab windows. Were you able to do this without cutting out the back of the storage compartments? Thanks again!

Here's my idea for you, get some kickpanel pods and throw some speakers in there (get components). get a nice amp for them just run 2 6-1/2" speakers and a sub, use amps (dont run off deck power) dont bother with the rear panels unless u want to put your subs there. if you get components in the front, and a decent 10" or 12" sub, it'll sound great, just send atleast 50w rms to each speaker (personally i prefer 100w or more, way better midrange).... Dont need tons of speakers in a small truck, just a few good ones....

here picture of my sub and amp Here it is covered. ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/casper3t/Truck/SSPX0265.jpg) Of course you don't want have music playing when you're seat it down because it will ruin the coil on the sub ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/casper3t/Truck/SSPX0267.jpg) I didn't cut any my pieces up. the compartment can be unscrewed and removed. To hold up my amp i used instant foam to hold the board in place. But i did drill some holes for the panel for the sub. i also instant foam the area underneath the seat in between the seat, that made a huge different in sound.

Casper3t - Thanks for posting those pics. That's exactly what I want to do with mine so that it's all hidden. I don't know that I'd actually do it but I'd like to hollow out the seat so that it could stay flipped down all the time.
So you used expanding foam to seal the air gaps in the storage area and to create separate components between the driver's and passenger's sides?
