MontyMcV: You are correct! Just below the nice rubber grommet is the 3M stuff. Now the flares didn't come with the 3M stuff, I added that even thought the flare were tight against the body I wanted to be doubly sure. Interesting in that the SR flares have the screws around the lip, but also those press-to-snap fasteners similar to what interior panels use. I have a near-complete set of SR flares and I haven't gone about installing as I have no desire to drill all the holes. I have been wondering about the 3M, but haven't delved any deeper. Thx!

MontyMcV: I don't know if you knew/realized this (which you probably do), but the SR Gen II has flat body panels and were an option on those years. The '99 -00 "Wide Body" Gen II.5 has bubbles on the fenders and never got the flare treatment(which was was sorely missed IMO). I'm sure that the 3M tape will work, I mis-aligned one half of the right rear flare and had a *&%# of a time getting back off! besides, if/when the trail does decide to "take" one of the flares from you, it'll just rip the tape and not pull the sheet metal such if using the snap fasteners would.

Angelo: Thanks for you many kind words and your support. coming from a long time 4x4wire member adds more credibility to what I am trying to do as well and it is appreciated. I have had the Montero (now known as a "Pajero" thanks to re-badging) since new in 1999. I first saw the JAOS stuff back in 2004 and started with the fender flares, three years later (and a LOT of $$ later) I finally had the parts all together. Believe me, I wanted to put the stuff on as I bought it, but thought it would look better if I did it all at once. The Ladder is an ASIO brand, cost even more than the JAOS, but the load rating was higher, and I intend on using it - a lot. The Rims are Ziga's.
--Oh, Speaking of painted grilles: you wanted that EVO looking grille I had didn't you? PM me about it.
Cheers, Steve Now it makes sense, I was trying to figure out who you were when you said you used to be on the wire, you used to be shoezuki ? But yeah, I know what you mean about the JAOS stuff and all the extra accessories, they can add up quickly. I might consider some spacers too, let me know how they work out for you, and the torsion bars too. Def keep us updated on the mods you are doing with the interior. I would love to check out what you are doing. There are tons of things I would love from overseas, but let me know next time you think about getting something, I might have something in mind IF you and your buddy dont mind, but nothing big I saw all those extra goodies we will never see in the US, unless you can get it shipped here? I was looking through it, awesome accessories and aftermarket stuff! Glad you are finally getting around to putting everything on, you are going to be busy that next few weeks/months or year. For me its usually every week trying to finish up some projects, but never able to keep working on it. I too have had mine since the end of 99. I couldnt imagine not being able to just sit on this stuff and not do anything. Good thing I found the 4x4wire after I ran into DougH. HE was the very first person that helped me out and pointed me to this site, I will never forget Looks like you are on the right path to all the upgrades, if you keep this up, you'll def have one of the sweetest GenII.5's out there! Guys, I have added the pics for the Spacers if you want to look at them, I also added some interior mods for Angelo as well. Check it out Here!I may have exceeded my allotted web space, so some of the "bigger pic links" may not work...but I'm working on it. Oh, and Charlie, wait to you see the Jerry can holders I have for your old rack..and the Highlift and the shovel.. Steve
