Can you imagine if a Republican pulled something like seeking to stop free speach <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />
You mean like when Trent Lott got all pissy
about Talk Radio because his big business buddies couldn't get amnesty passed, thanks to the grass roots movement and up cry that stopped it? Talk about implying to stop free speech.
The whole reason this country is screwed up is because we've been suckered into fighting each over partisan crap and believing in our two party system. There is not one difference between Clinton and Bush. They are both scum. And they both only care about the powerful people that run this country and the world. They pick issues that they know will divide, and then their parties set out to brain wash their constituents that healthcare for children is evil or guns are the root cause of all crime.
Every single mainstream candidate on both sides is scum and so is every single powerful Senator and Congressman.
I don't like Clinton one bit, but I refuse to play their game because it’s exactly what they want. The last thing the powerful elite want is for Americans to unite under a common ideology, such as protecting and promoting our freedom, democracy and our Constitution, because that's the only time they are threatened.
As long as we continue to bicker along party lines and minor issues, they remain in power. If you don't think these people aren't close friends behind closed doors, you aren't paying attention. Just look at the Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton.
We think we live in a true Democracy, just because we get to vote, but it really isn't much different than many totalitarian countries, because we are really basically handed a short list of candidates from which to choose from, just like in Iran, Pakistan, Russia, etc.
But this time around there really is an alternative. A candidate who not everyone will agree with on everything, but who is not bought and paid for. He's rising up thanks almost exclusively from a grass roots campaign by ordinary average people. Not special interests or big business.
And unlike other alternative candidates, he's not buying his way to office, from his own money. I.e. Romney today and Perot from the past.
Of course, I'm talking about Ron Paul.
I know his chances are slim to none, although we are far from over in this election. But trust me, even if he remains to have no chance in hell of winning, I will never, ever, ever cast another vote for a mainstream piece of garbage, whether that be Clinton, Bush, Guliani, McCain, Oboma, Thompson….or pick yer poison.
Consider my vote for Ron Paul a protest. At least I will go down with the ship with a clear conscious. As a two time Bush voter, I have a lot to atone for.
