Anybody had experience with the trail gear ring and pinion? I was wondering what the quality was like.

One of the best Gear men I know has endorsed them. That would be good enough for me if I bought stuff from T-G.

If they're loud, you haven't set them up right.

Set-up is the key to any gear install.

I don't mean loud per say, I've heard that poor gear sets "new" will actually produce sound.

I have put in 4 or 5 sets and sold them on craigs list. I have never had any calls on them failing and I run a set in my front 8" and rear V6 diffs currently with no problems. I do like the V6 set better than the 4cyl set due mainly to the finish. The 4 cyl sets have a hard shiny finish where the V6 sets have a black oxide finish that made gear patterns much easier to read. You could tell the V6 set had a higher quality feel to them and the pattern looked fantastic. For what its worth the V6 set had a Yukon part number on it. This is a V6 setup I sold on CL I didn't take any pics of the 4cyl set's... not really sure why?? ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/ganoid/000_0097.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/ganoid/000_0099.jpg)

For what its worth the V6 set had a Yukon part number on it. That is funny, a certain employee at TG has said their gears are made especally for TG!!!!!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

yea i have had excellent luck with my tg 5.29's i tore one down i set up that was open and dropped in an aussie locker, i had broken 2 birfs and hammered on it quite a bit and it showed no wear signs but the shiny gears were a bit of a pain to check the patern as said above. and for the record they are made by yukon, i had them side by side with a spare yukon r&p set i have and the part #s were nearly identical. if you doubt their strength send them to bobby to have them cryoed.
