mattrod, I ran my 235/75R/15 all last winter with no problems at all. Didn't have the rubbing issue till I lifted my Sporty.
I don't have a large budget. I bought the tires first. Then the warn manual hubs, then the 3"UPYOURKIA. I'm looking at more backspacing on the wheels then move into more aggressive treaded tires. The tires I run still have 95% tread so it'll be a while.
Get those bigger tires, fills the wheel well more and looks better too. Good Luck.

i have been running 30x9.5s on my stock alloys for about a year with no lift and a sagging rear end and no rubbing issues on the back at all....the front bumper was trimmed and no rubbing issues there either.. however if fully cranking the wheel and backing up, my sidetread would rub a lil on the springs covering the front brake hoses but not bad enough to worry about and if i backed up slower or not as sharp it didnt rub at all...with my ford winter wheels and same size tire i did get rubbing on about 3/4 turn on front firewall seam and over any decent bumps on the rear pass side fender since that side sagged the worst and my shocks were shot...now with my tj 104s and new shocks i get a lil rub on the top of my rear drivers shock from the sidetread when i corner, im sure some ford wheels with more backspacing will fix that eventually, it doesnt rub too bad, just enough to take off the black paint and show the original white that they were...hope this all helps

well my lift is finally installed and looks great, ill post some pics as soon as my wife gets back from portland with her camera.i went with the 4" upyourkia kit up front and rear tj 104s.drivers side was done in under 2hrs and that included stopping to eat, but the pass side took about 5 1/2 or 6 hrs, finally figured out that the problem was the driveaxle inner joint protrudes farther on the pass side than the drivers side and wont let the assembly go in as far to get it into the right position to bolt it up,finally got the axle pulled out after numerous attempts and then it went together like it should.it took alot of sweat and muscle but it will go in and the new clearence is awesome.thanks for everything everet

Getting the Wheeling Fever
quick question...Now i installed my tj springs in the rear. I measured in front of the rear wheel before and after installing the springs. I get three inches in front of the rear wheels but 4 inches right at the rear. Right at the Tow hooks So would this be a 3 or 4 inch lift in the rear.

If you haven't done the front yet, your car rear is angled higher than the front, which will make the rear of the car measure more lift. Adding the front lift will level the car out and make it measure right.

so it probably is a 3 inch lift then, i hope any how as i have two inch spacers for the front. I'll have to cut 1/2 inch off to get the 3 inch lift in the front.

i put the 104 springs on which give a 3" lift from stock but the 2" spacers up front which give a 4" lift and im still sitting level, i belive with a 4" rear lift you would have a 1" rake but im ok with sittin level to get the added front clearance...id go with it how it is if i were you not cut 1/2" off...just my 2 cents
