omygosh.. rear lift. 1.5 hours.. front lift.. still counting..
getting those bottom shock bolts off?? are you SERIOUS?!?!?!! GOOD LORD.. that's a pain. in the bum. one bolt destroyed.. ordering 2.. cause the other one is gonna get trashed.. i mean, really? they couldn't have made the flats fit a WHOLE wrench??
and then getting that bolt back in AFTER putting on the lift spacer is a two person one crowbar job..

G'Day All,
Have been chasing down rear shocks for my Sporty and was going to go custom made ones with a full extended length of 690mm but it is just taking too long.
Have rechecked the SPECS on the Old Man Emu Rear RAV 4 shock from ARB. it was made for the RAV 4 to suit a 1.5 inch lift so is longer than a standard one.
The standard RAV 4 shock is 617 mm fully extended.
Specs for the OME shock are; fully extended 629mm and fully closed 379mm.
Best thing is the OME shocks are quite reasonably priced, under $100 each here in Oz. (see sig block).
So I have ordered a set to suit my new 4 inch lift waiting to go in.
Cheers, Chris <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Man what a pain. Took an hour or so to do the rear on Saturday. looks good. Made some 2" spacers for the front to go with my 105 TJ springs (Based on some pics I've seen here I like the combo).
On day 3 of trying to get the passenger side (Right side)in. I figured I'd start with the harder side (again I've read here that passenger is the harder side).
Starting to think I need to completely drop the front diff. I removed the rear bolt to let it drop some. But no go. And tried every combo of "which bolt to put in last" to see what was easier to pry and no go, been close, but not close enough.
Got the day off work tomorrow so I'll dig into it again in the morning before the rain comes back.....
I've done custom fit trans swaps that required a body lift and custom linkages and custom clutch made that were a breeze compared to this.
2001 Kia Sportage Warn manual hubs, 2" spacer up front, TJ 105 springs Rav4 shocks, 235/75/15 BFG A/T KOs, Skidplate back to under the T-case, trans cooler, XRC8 winch on custom bumper, Synth winch line, fuel can mount, Rigid D2 Dually overhead lights.

So I decided to drop the whole diff some. Like magic the whole thing went together like butter. No prybars. Shoot, from shock laying on the ground with the spacer on top of it to the whole front suspension being bolted back together took maybe 20 minutes at the most. Got the driver's side in by popping out the axle and getting it all bolted together then jacking up the arm until I could pop the axle back in. So. 2" spacers up front. 105 Jeep springs in back (The guy I got them from took them out of a Rubicon). With all the other usual bits to make it all work. ![[Linked Image]](http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss322/TeamCatFlap/KIA/Kialifted1.jpg)

Ok so I need it straight I live in Australia, I had a bit of a read through but cant find any straight forward answers about a 2" suspension lift on my 2002 Sportage. I have enough skills to install the components my self but in saying that I have a guy that can help me out.
I would like to know where in Aus cant I purchase springs and coils or if it no that simple what do I need to give it the lift with out the UpyourKia thing as this 4wd is also my vehicle that gets me to work so trying to keep it a legal as I can
Any help you would be great even if I have missed a post about the subject is the info up to date?
Cheers
