look up Dobinson Springs. They make 40mm and 70mm lift coils for the Sportage. I've heard good things about them.

I'm running Dobinson's springs in mine as well. Alot firmer than the originals. Bear in mind my lift is 90mm with Rear Spring and a combo of front fork extensions and springs for the front.

As you are based in Brisbane give Supension stuff a call as well as they advertise 75 mm springs for the Sporty.

shocks are different matter entirely. Basically you have standard height replacement in Australia, or find an alternative.

RAV 4 rear shocks give heaps extra travel but with a 50 mm lift you may need spring locators to stop them from popping out. I purchased the required metal ring insert for the bottom of the RAV 4 shock from Peddars. On my Sporty I am running TJ 30 mm lift rears. I believe the Old Man Emu RAV 4 shocks I got are valved way to soft. If I give the Sporty heaps and start the rear's spinning in grass, gravel or Uturning on the road I get axle hop. For the Sporty you a limited to the standard replacement struts (I got KYB in mine) however I believe the valving is way to soft with the Dobinsons springs. I'm not sure on Gabriel fronts but have heard bad things about them on the Sporty over the years I hae researched. Alternate is to get onto Everett and Sid the Kid for their coil over strut replacement which is described as a bolt in fit. May need to talk to them about valving though.

Also worth sourcing Everett's sway bar spacers for the front.

Ok so this is why you dont ask questions at 6am after a 10hr night shift.

I noticed I wrote coils and springs silly me as thats all I can find. What I REALLY am looking for is the shocks for the front WITHOUT using the spaces from UpyourKia (I want to keep it legal this is mainly a road vehicle.

The rear is easy so I know what to do there thanks to this forum but there is no real info for a 2" lift for the front( Is there any or are spaces or fork extensions the only way)

The only way I know of to allow for more travel with a 50 mm lift inthe front is to use Everett's and Sidthe Kids replacement spring over strut.

Everything else you hae know way of allowing for extra travel to suit 50 mm lift as you are stuck with the standard design fron strut shocks.

So it's been awhile, I have up sized the size of my tires from stock size to 225x75 R15 as im still unsure what I can do legally with the suspension lift (I'm seeing the easiest way is just get to 2in coils with stock shocks).

Any way took the new tires out on a small little track I know and what I noticed is the rear left tire rubbed on the shock mount on a nice bit a mound.

I don't remember any info on this in forum and I'm not going over the 30 something pages to see if this is mentioned

This is normal due to the offset of the standard wheels.

To fix it you need new rims with a better offset.

Mine used to rub standard on the drivers side with standard tyres, no lift.

I now run 4 inch lift and Suzuki GV XL7 mag wheels and no issues with rubbing at all.

Yes, here in Aus the King Springs will give you about 40mm of lift, have been running these for a bit over 12 months, quite happy with them. No more "diving" of the front end over smallish bumps.
I've just got hold of some Jeep TJ 104 rear springs, and seeing as the install is a casual 20 minutes, put them in place, gave me a further inch of rear lift.
As for the front, am yet to source strut spacers, so the vehicle is still an inch lower in the nose. If I get a 2" spacer, I'll probably revert to the original springs, for an overall 3" of lift.
FYI, I did a quick measure of the lower A arm pivot lengths, the inner to fork is 250mm, the inner to outer (ball joint) is 370mm, so gives a ratio of nearly 1.5:1
ie a 2" spacer x 1.5 = approx 3" lift.

Another way to lift the front is to source the front fork extensions from Korea. You can get 40 or 50 mm.

Bear in mind that this will have an affect on your upper ball joint if you keep the 40 mm springs.

It does however fix the issues of the springs been to close to the CV booot and tearing them.

I have 50 mm in mine however I would probably run 40mm if I was to do it again or just get Sids long travel kit coil over kit when it becomes available wghich should eliminate the bal joint issue.
