Howdy Chris - I haven't had any clearance issues with the twin tube shocks. But they are a tight fit in the lower mounting bracket. If I recall correctly, the shocks have an internal stop to keep them from over-extending. Here's a link to the original thread with more detail on the shocks and their fitment on the Sporty. I think that may help answer some of your questions... Shocks or Springs?!?
1997 Sportage 4x4, auto-trans, Warn manual hubs, 4" UPYOURKIA front lift, TJ 106AA rear springs, 2-5/8" body lift, 31x10.50 treads, SmittyBilt SRC front and XRC rear bumper, swing-out tire mount, OBX LSD front diff, Track Finder rear locker, 5.38 R&Ps and... really crappy gas mileage!

I looked at the boots again they aren't rubbing. They only were rubbing when the front was jacked up.

http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/Boat-Trailer/3-1-2-in-End-Cap/8095150.pThis is an end cap for a keel roller on a boat trailer. It's 1 3/8" tall, 3.5" wide, made of polyurethane and fits rather nicely on top of a Sportage body mount. Not as nice as a 4crawler kit, but for $3 apiece I couldn't say no. I'll post install pics sometime this weekend.

So that's a thing. ![[Linked Image]](http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/33/cbwx.jpg) Somebody left a 13/16" reamer in the drill press. Awesome, I don't have to go looking for it in the tool room. Also urethane machines a LOT easier when it's cold. These were sitting all day in -15 Celsius outside. ![[Linked Image]](http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/35/lten.jpg) Little hole is now big hole. ![[Linked Image]](http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/513/ixht.jpg) Confirmed 1 3/8" thick. ![[Linked Image]](http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/62/n22c.jpg) Part number. ![[Linked Image]](http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/20/xfbe.jpg) Installed! ![[Linked Image]](http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/46/khy1.jpg) They fit much better above the factory bushing than below since the curved edge mates nicely with the 'bowl' on the body side, but my factory ones were so horribly rotten that I decided not to disturb them after the first couple nearly crumbled right apart on me. The nuts came off very easily- surprising since my Sporty came from Ontario and I've had to take the torch out on every other fastener I've taken out on the undercarriage of this thing. I suppose that's mostly due to the fact that my impact puts out 550 lb-ft. Also, I was far too busy watching my heater hoses to remember to pull the PS reservoir off. Don't skip that step. Spent the whole day today adapting my lines and bracket to run a Honda reservoir since there aren't any Sportages in the junkyards around here and all the other Mazda/Kia ones I saw had the barbs in entirely the wrong places.

Is there any source on an adjustable panhard rod? I'm a little concerned about the axle being pulled right when i get ready to put my 4 inch lift on. I've basically read through all 40 something pages on this thread and saw some that said it wasn't a huge deal and others that said there was rubbing on one side. I see Everet has on Upyourkia that he has one in development but it seems like I saw that on the site a while ago and Google doesn't seem to be my friend when i search for other sources.

Hell of a read aint it
I've got 5ish inches of rear lift, and my axle is noticeably shifted to the right. Car also pulls slightly to the left when driving.
A quick look on masterjeep.com shows some that are/were available, it's just a matter of sourcing them. Elsewhere in the thread is a drop bracket for the chassis end mount, might be easier to make one of those instead.

Yeah I read it off and on at work, it took me about 2 days and I also took notes!
I had read about the bracket idea and I might have to go that route. I haven't had any luck finding one. I might have to do some measuring but will probably have to do the lift first to get an accurate measurement and maybe I can find one that will work. My other option is to either make one or have it made which I have the resources to do but I'd rather buy one if I can find one.

Hi Kia racer, Have you tried this email address picorp@hanmail.net ? This is the gent we managed to source all our parts from in Korea including 5.38 Pinions, extended forks, difflocks and the adjustable panhard rod which I have fitted to my Sporty. His name is Michael. try writing your query and use a translation tool to convert you query into Korean as this seems to work in getting a quick responce. a link to the thread showing my suspension fitted. http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showf...&an=0&page=4#Post1276433The adjustable panhard rod is extremely beefy and I have had no issues at all with it so far including clearance which I had read could be an issue. All good so far. Hope that helps. cheers, Chris

Chris, what was the rough price (US$) for the panhard rod? I need to realign my rear axle at some stage..
