Hi Folks

The original tires lasted for 50K, but it is time for new shoes..

Any recommendations? I do not do any 4x4ing of note at all so really I am looking for a fair mid market all seasons. Typically I just picked up what ever Can-tire had on sale in the past and was leaning to do the same, but thought I would post to see what I should be looking at....

What size are you looking for. I'm actually liking my 31" Can Tire Roughrider MTs. Been great so far for an MT in winter. Loved my TrXus MTs before these, but way noisier and would flat spot in the cold. Sucked in winter too, very good offroad.

I had a set of Cooper Discoverer AT/s on my Explorer and found them to be fantastic as a moderately balanced SUV tire in regards to on/off road usability. They were very quiet, durable and had great water shedding ability. The odd time I did go into the mountains I stayed on the dirt roads and some very low grade road that could still be negotiated in 2wd. The tires performed decent for more or less a higway tire. The shed mud ok and resisted stone bruising. If I didn't hit the more rugged terrain once in a while I would buy them again without hesitation. If something more aggressive but still quiet is in order then my Dick Cepek FCII tires have been great on my Pajero. Cepek is owned by Micky Thompson which is a division of Cooper. These tires are heavier and don't ford the fuel economy but a rugged tire with great tread over lap and huge lugs on the side and seem to me to be the best all around tire I have seen. I searched months before settling on these and really, really like them. The biggest problem with Copper brand anything is they are a bit pricey but have had nothing but good experience with them. Good luck shopping.
