Sold my 2000 Taco back to Toyota for $20700. Took that money and bought a 2005 Taco with the 4.0 and love it.

wow, i was seriously going to start looking at 2000-2003 tacoma doublecabs. this thread has really burst my bubble so to speak.i dont know what i'm going to buy now.....

For those who still have frames that are in nice shape, I see Trail Gear has come up with some frame gusseting kits.

I still need to plate my rear frame. The front is beefed up from the axle swap. Like you said, a very good idea for a camper rig.
