Need a Spot
My girlfriend and I picked up a 4x4 base model sportage for rather cheap, and i'm now interested in doing a few things to it. Which brings me to my questions that i couldn't find when i searched:

1) For a small lift (~2 inches), what parts do i use and how do i go about doing so. DIY somewhere?

2) I would like some fender flares for the wider wheels and tires i'll be putting on this summer, where do i get some? If they aren't available for the sportage, is there another vehicle's flares that fit the sportages?

3) Front grill guard/bull bar... I've seen many with them, can't find them online. Is there one that is made for another vehicle that will fit the sportage?

4) Wheels: Is there a preferred offset that I should shoot for? Or any 5x5.5 wheels? I want to fit some 15x8 wheels with 30x9.5x15 tires. Will these be ok for daily driving around town?

I think that about covers it all, i apologize for the novel. smile Can't wait to have fun with my sportage! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

birthday was today. i really like em. havent actually had a chance to get them on anything more than muddy dirt roads but they handle snow and ice excellent. my dad had em on his work truck and they kicked butt, only thing they couldnt handle was deep clay and even then they did ok if you used 4lo.

sorry to not really answer earlier, was in a rush and just wanted to point you in the right direction.

(1)dunno what you would use for a 2" lift, like the sticky says a 3" is just as easy and looks better and is more functional. there is also a body lift kit here http://4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/KiaSportageBodyLift.shtml what exactly are you lifting for?

(2)cant find any fender flares for my ride yet, working on fabbing some up. its a ways down the list though.

(3)http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?N=10924+1646+4294967269+9357 this is a universal grille guard, i think it looks pretty good. i know there is a bull bar out there as well.

(4) i got some 15x8 rims with 4 inch rear spacing, and i havent had a problem at all. no rubbing at all. i think anything aftermarket with a 5x5 1/2 lug spacing should work fine.

I found a brushgaurd @ the local dealership & after a year traded it to a friend when I installed a custom bumper.

The Stealership gaurd is on the red 4 door Kiwi
The Custom one installed on the Rokia was originally made for a Samurai welded to the frame with a 9000i Warn

As for a mild lift to fit some larger tires = check out the previous threads on the body lift, this is the most cost effective - cheap modification along with some trimming of the front bumper & fenders. You can go bigger with suspension mods later.

I can build you a 2" lift that will clear 30x950s. I build the upyourkia spacers that alot of the guys here run. I have a combination of Eibach springs and upyourkia spacers front and stock Jeep TJ springs rear. Send me an email for more info and prices.

Thanks, Dennis (upyourkia@yahoo.com)

Dennis that sportage looks great smile I am buying a set of 15x8 ford steel wheels and coating them black and also have a set of A/T 30x9.50's to toss on there. According to the sticky, i should be able to run these tires without a lift, but i'll have to cut out a section of the front bumper.

What is your price for a 2" body lift? I will be using this for light offroading and don't want to have to modify much.

Thanks for the pic btw, yours is almost a clone of what i have in plans for mine. Mines even white with black wheels too!
