Well I did the replacements, boy what a job. Sure wish haynes made a repair manual, there was so much to take off . And Everet I would not call it fun . So much to take off just to get to it all, I toasted the first gasket for the pump auto zone was able to get me 1 the next day no one in my area carrys them. Looks like someone had changed the belt before, the pump was not much good it had a squeek, plus the tensioner was toast too. I had two t/b kits 1 from gates and the other pci. I tried over and over to get the gates belt to line up as some of you know that can come easy and sometimes not. So I worked with the pci belt thats what I have on it now. you know if we hand 6 arms and hands it would help keep the I&E lined up another set to hold on the belt at the bottom gear and the other 2 to slip the belt over ther gears. thats why we call it fun
Well we are less 1 Sportage, ( thats why I had 2 T/B kits glad I did not order a w/p with the last kit )I had done a lot of work on my wifes Sportage I wish I had a little more time I would have changed the new blower motor for she to mine there goes $60 down the towlet. I wish she would have down this before Christmas would have saved $100's on all the P/S lines and the Propellor shaft. Everet I will send back the hubs when I can get a few bucks to ship it, thanks bro
She traded it in on a 2000 VW Beetle w/turbo it gets 35 mpg. Funny thing is she still owed a lot on the sportage. All she saw was that they would pay off the Sportage.
Ok she saw they wanted XX amount for the Bug they would give her X amount for the Storage which would go to the bank for the sportage then had the X amount that is still owed on the loan would be added to the loan and send the bank to pay it off. All she saw was gas going higher and higher. so she traded a truck which would have been paid off in 22 months at $180 per month for a bug paid off in 54 months at about $220 per month to save on a few $ in gas a month in the next 4 1/2 years. She wanted me to sell my truck which is a stick which also is paid off and let her use it for her down. and use hers and make payments on hers. It still need some front end work it pulled to the right, I would have put on my slighty bigger tires and did the t/b-w/p on her if we had keep it ( that why I had 2 kits) I told her we don't have a extra $200 for her Kia.
My next job on my truck I the airbag system I need a clockspring. Does or has anyone one every taken 1 apart, I need to know if there is a shorting bar in side the clockspring, when I test the spring I do get continuity end to end but I also get it across the points so it has a short but is it a bar ? I have another modual but need the clockspring don't want to code it $80 to reset it at the dealers, well I wil cut this book short for now.
