I forgot to add you have been brainwashed by big oil. It's just free money for them.

Here is my proof

Oh trust me, I know, I know that it would be a waste of my hard-earned cash lol

(I was just *joshin'* around )

I do have a home-made racing-kart though that I've been running 91+Octane boost in it.. it's got a 12.5:1 Compression ratio.. maybe see if it runs any better using that stuff..

There is a place here with ultra-preimum or something like that. It is 96 IIRC, maybe 98.
If I had a Ferrari I would try it.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

There are quite a few gas stations that you could find 100 octane at, usually at least 2 pumps had it. Not sure about now, so many gas stations have been changing hands and brands of fuel they may have dropped it.

The stuff I buy for my bike is over 100...can't remember exactly what it is, but it's over 100. It hasn't gone up much in price. Last time I filled up my jug with race gas, I think it was around 40 bucks...for 5 gallons of gas, and 1 16 oz. of oil to mix it with.

That's a LOT of riding on the RM though, and all of it is fun. (Unlessy you take a Pennsylvania hobbit with you, and they start braking stuff)

I think that I saw 96 octane like 10 years ago (and I posted a thread) last year. It was in Mass----Outside of Boston.

Not worth it!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a country in South America that has almost a pure bio-fuel setup ..............But I don't remember which?

Where are we (US) in all this Progression?

And on a similiar point---How do we know that the fuel is really what the pump states?

There are many cases in Litigation regarding water mixed with fuel from certain stations etc...............

I have ran AV gas through the XKE before. I think it was well over 100 octane.

When I autocross my 240sx at SCCA events, I run my tank almost dry prior to the event, then put in about 1/4 tank of 100 octane on my way to the race. There's 2 stations within 5 miles of me that sell it - used to be about $5/gallon, now it's up to $7.50. The car does perform better with the 100 than with the 91 octane premium that is available. It's a seat of the pants feeling, but it feels like the difference between running with a/c on or a/c off. It's way too expensive to run it on a regular basis, but when you're racing, every 10th of a second counts.

I had tried filling a gas can with 3 gallons and adding it at the event, but didn't acheive the same results. The computer apparently needs some driving time to realize that it can safely advance the timing beyond it's normal driving parameters. I've been meaning to try disconnecting the battery & resetting the computer at the gas station, but I never seem to have enough time.

If I chip and tune my S4 (bigger turbos, ecu, fuel system upgrade, ignition system upgrade, exhaust, etc.) I can easily double the HP and some have nearly tripled the HP (750+) but then I do have to use a high octane race fuel (100+) to obtain that level of performance.

There are some in the local audi club who have done this. They run 100+ octane. Many buy fuel at a few stations locally that sell 100+ octane but many create and use their own octane booster made w/ toulene (iirc) or some other chemicals.

Myself, w/ a stock S4 I have to use 91 (93 is recommended) or better or I burn up valves.

Luckily my commute is 8 miles round trip.
