Anybody from the Wire in this neck of the woods? I'm here until Friday. I have a pretty busy schedule and I'm traveling with a couple other guys.
Just thought I'd ask.

That town smells good dont it? We lived in Loveland(just west of Greeley) for a few years. Awesome area. You should be able to see Longs Peak from where you are. Go climb it while you have a chance at a 14er. No climbing equipment is needed, just water, food, flashlight, and good hiking shoes. Start at 3AM and make the summit before eraly afternoon, before the clouds roll in and lightning starts striking the peak. Estes Park is close as well. If you have never seen Elk before you have a 99% chance of running into some. Decent Trout fishing in the Thompson Canyon, heck that whole area is great. If you keep going on the highway through Estes you will end up in Rocky Mountain National Park. The highway goes over the summit there at over 12,000 feet IIRC. You can drive all the way up and the views are spectacular even withought getting out of the car. Elk, Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goats, and many other large game are abundant there. ![[Linked Image]](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h194/cmontymonty/chron886.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h194/cmontymonty/chron897.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h194/cmontymonty/chron889.jpg) 14,000' looks a bit like this. (Torreys Peak) ![[Linked Image]](http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h194/cmontymonty/chron694.jpg) The Capn is in Denver. Have fun, I wish I was there, I'd get us into some trouble. PS....If you absolutly have to have a bottle of booze on a Sunday, Wyoming is only about 40 minutes away.

They're selling it on Sunday now. And you're right, the human waste smell is just awesome. The location I am visiting this week is just down the road from the treatment plant.
Yesterday I drove up into the mountains with a couple other guys. We drove past Estes and into the park. We saw a lot of elk and got to see a bull bugle about 20 yards from the vehicle. We drove in far enough to cross the continental divide, then we turned around and came back.
Tonight we're going up north to the "border".

BTW, thanks for the sticky, but might as well un-sticky it now. I'm flying out in the morning.

Sorry to have missed you. I work in South Denver (Centennial) and live in Colorado Springs, but I've been tied-up with a bit of a hectic work-week.
And yes, this past July they repealed the no-selling-booze-on-Sunday law.

Greeley not only has the sewage treatment plant but there are feed lots all around so you get that lovely cattle fecal smell wafting around as well.
Thats great you made it up the mountain. I hunted Elk in Idaho for almost ten years so everytime I would see these huge bulls within 50 yards of me I'd get a little 'itchy' if you know what I mean.
They repealed the 'no booze on Sunday' rule huh? Did you guys kick out all the Mormons with there 3.2 beer too? Reason number 336 for moving back. J/K I really dont drink much.

but there are feed lots all around so you get that lovely cattle fecal smell wafting around as well. You won't hear me complain about them. They're our customers. I was able to visit a dairy and feedlot operation my first day out there. Cow sh!t doesn't bother me, I grew up around it.

Like my buddies in your business would say "it smells like money". I really did'nt mind it either as long as I WAS IN GREELEY but when the winds would pick up from the east it would get a bit overwhelming in Loveland. I prefer horse crap though, it reminds me of good times as a kid growing up on a ranch with four horses, goat, numerous dogs,guns,motorcycles,4x4s,and no parental supervision.
Glad you had fun.
