Sad day for me. I got hit in the rear and pushed into the guy in front of me. The gray Honda in the background hit me in the rear. I'll be surprised if this is repairable from a cost/value perspective. Just short of 125k on it too. Running perfectly. No way to win with insurance on this deal. ![[Linked Image]](http://i38.tinypic.com/6psx0h.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](http://i37.tinypic.com/2s9849h.jpg)

I'll see what the insurance company offers next week. I suspect they'll keep it if they total it. Is that the way it normally works?

Depends on where you live and which company you have. Some have 2 prices. One if they get the carcass and one if you keep it. Sometimes the difference is only a few hundred bucks. Ask them before signing. You may be better off.

Sue the person in the honda to recoup the cost of your T100... I hate to be an ass like that, but I got screwed the same way once...I still miss my camry.

CJ is right. Anything between fair market and settlement can be sued. Also, any personal injury? That goes on her insurance....

I'm glad you walked away that looks like a hard crash. Out of curiosity did your airbag deploy or was the speed to slow?
On the fixing the truck I had a tree fall on my truck a couple years ago and they for 1 fender, a hood, reskinning a door, fixing a fender, taking dents out and paint was $6,600. They decied to fix it but the value of the Truck was $13-14,000. Now I'm not sure as to an exact value but I'd guess with all the parts needed that theres not any way they won't total it out as mine was a lot for much more minimal damage. but it would probably be worth buying it back and selling parts off of it. I'd be interested in a few things. Anyways though I'm glad your okay but sad about the Truck <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Best that you're ok, but sorry to hear about the loss. Hope it all works out for you.

Yes, the airbag deployed.
Thanks to all for the msgs of concern. My main injury seems to be the left little finger..very sore when I make a fist. Otherwise, the T took good care of me.
It was a hard hit. I heard two bangs and only noticed the air bag when everything came to a halt. The engine was still running, but I could hear the fan ticking... so I shut it down.
I presume the two bangs were the initial hit in the rear followed by the front hit/air bag. Man, those things stink!
At 10 years/125k miles, I figured I had another easy 20 years and 250k miles to go. Saw a T100 ('97 2wd) the other day. It had 388+k on it and still running strong.
I don't see how this cannot be totaled. IAC, I'm checking to see what it will take to repair... just in case.
I'm also looking around for another vehicle... but really have no idea what I'd want to replace the T100 with. Maybe a Ridgeline RTS/RTL or a Taco 4x4 crew cab or a (gasp) van. Must have 4 doors this time... and better rear seat protection. I'm really glad my kids weren't with me at the time because someone's head would have likely been through the back glass with no protection there. (I've complained about that before on this forum). That's probably my biggest complaint about the T100.
I'm tempted to get a small economical car and buy a beater truck for my modest hauling needs... but don't care to add tags and insurance for a 3rd vehicle.
I hate to be in a position of HAVING to buy rather than WANTING to buy... in which case I'd already know what I want and what I'm shopping for.
But... life happens.

I dunno, frame is probably bent by the way the truck looks imho.
Could get a doublecab taco or perhaps tundra v6.
