Sorry man, it truly sucks but I had the feeling it was bent by the way it looked and the impact.

Heheh. I looked on Autotrader for 1998 T100 and found 18 for sale in the entire country. Just a few of those were 4x4 SR5 models.

The best available ones seemed to be on the west coast.

Ah well. I'd been sticking my head in the sand anyway and ignoring the safety issue of the rear seat occupants. I'm so grateful the kids weren't with me because I fear what would have happened if someone had been in the rear seat with that impact. I suspect their heads would have gone through the back glass inflicting who knows what sort of injury or death.

I solved that problem by taking my insurance settlement and adding some cash and got a killer deal on a 2008 Ridgeline RTS.

If anyone wants to check into getting the interior or other salvageable parts, send me an email at:
speedlever at yahoo.com. You can figure the email out.

Insurance says the salvage value is about $1277 iirc. I don't know if they'll part it out or just auction the carcass off.

Sorry... the ins. co has the truck now.

However, I do have Vol 1 & 2 of the service manuals available for the '98 T100. Got the flanges available to from where I pulled them off to put manual hubs on 9 or 10 years ago... not that anybody wants them.

I'm pretty much hit and miss checking in here. If I have anything anyone needs/wants, it's best to contact me via emai:

They may have it but,,,,what is the buy-back??? If the buy-back is only a couple of hundred and the engine is fine.....It might be worth looking in to buying it back if you have a place to put it to part it out.? I mean, the engine from yours would be SWEET sitting in the '95 extended cab here in my yard that has a spun main!! Or I could just let you have this one for about $600.The body isn't great but the running gear is !

Usually the insurance company pays you, then they receive the title...free and clear. Then the insurance company goes and sells the truck to a "RECYCLING" CENTER (aka Junkyard). Then the junkyard picks it up and hauls to his yard where he starts to sell parts off of it for profit. I am sure that the salvage value of the truck would be more than $1277.

Sorry to see your truck in such shape and glad nobody got hurt. The Ridgeline is a good truck and it should serve you well. Good luck to you speedy!

I know when we totalled a 96 cherokee 2 years ago,the book on it was $5700,they gave us $5200 and the Jeep back and all it needed was 2 fenders,a grill,a bumper, windshield and paint. For $1290 I fixed it and it looks just like it did before the wreck.Best thing was in Va.if it is over 7 years old or under $7000 value you don't even get a salvage title. Now that doesn't fool carfax,,but I have no intention of selling it anytime soon anyway. My point is ,the buy-back for the owner is usually MUCH lower than for anybody else.

I just posted a few things I have left of my '98 T100 in the for sale section:
1) original floor mats (like new)
2) complete FSM set, Vol. 1 & 2 (excellent condition). Matter of fact, the T100 was so good, those manuals saw little use.

Again, sorry to hear about your T100. I've lost a White, 1998 Xtracab myself. I replaced with another. =) This was back in 2003.

I sent you an e-mail about the FSM's... I'm interested.

Thanks,
Joel
