I was fortunate enough to visit the D-Day memorial on a beautiful Spring day when Ray was talking to visitors about Omaha Beach and his fellow Bedford Boys. Apparently, it was one of his last visits when he could walk around the memorial and talk with visitors. Amazing man, and I can't imagine the horrors and heroism that he say that day. http://www.roanoke.com/news/roanoke/wb/201771Thank you Ray, and thank you vets.

Wow, that is sad. The whole Bedford story is one of the most profound ones I've run across, and going to the memorial was an incredible experience.

I've got some pics of it from one of my trips a few years ago on webshots somewhere. I'll try and dig it up. EDIT** That took a lot less time than I thought it would. http://travel.webshots.com/album/553118614gCbXWF
