I just noticed that I haven't seen anything from Jim on here is a while; I hope is is ok, as this place would not be the same with out him.
Anyone know if he's ok?

Anyone know if he's ok? Careful with that "old man" [censored]! Why I could! But that is another story. I'm just burning up in the damn unusual heat we are having here. 103* is forcast every day this week. Thanks for thinking about me. Big JIm

Retook my concieled carry test again today. We must retake it every five years. I scored 250 out of a possible 250! You guys want to watch what it is you call me.. I doubt I'll ever see Carolina beach or Myrtle beach again. Think I'll be in Texas a long time. Big JIm

LOL Jim, I retook my CHL test a few weeks ago also. What was funny, was the instructor told us they don't like to see us score a perfect 250, as they are worried about a defense lawyer trying to turn it around on us in court. Of course, I questioned his thoughts on the matter and told him that, based on that line of thinking and having qualified expert for the last 24 years in the military, I was pretty much screwed then.
So being the instigator that I am, I qualified with a 249 score, by putting all but one round in the center of mass and one off to the upper left for a 4 pointer. The instructor called me a smart a$$ for my efforts; it's a good thing I don't get my feelings hurt easily.

John, funny you should mention instructors. This one was a smart asz. Kept saying we didn't want to kill the perpetrator.. Which of course most of us do. Tried to sell us a book he likes and had many copies of. We were all tired of his gabber when he passed out his business card. It was at least five colors, laminated and printed on both sides. I stood up and told him the card was indeed a nice one. Holding it in my hand I said my wife had told me that if you put your picture on your card, people would keep that card because nobody wants to throw a photograph away! But I thought, in his case he should make an exception to that rule.... Everyopne got a good laugh at that one. I carry one of the new Ruger .380 autos every minute in my jeans pocket. Clothing permitted I also carry a lightweight Smith hammerless .357 in a jacket pocket. It is a fact that perps like to pick on older looking folks...I'm prepared.. I hope anyway. LOL Jim, nothing worse than an instructor with an agenda; especially since the state mandates we have to go through one to exercise our God given right to self defense.
Also, it's my experience that only someone not raised in the south would believe that old folks are an easy target, but your right, most BG's aren't that bright to start with.
I carry a PT840 .40 Cal and the wife carries a PT111 Mil Pro 9 Millimeter. She is handicapped and also presents the appearance of an easy target; if they only knew her, they'd be afraid to cut her off in traffic, much less target her for a crime.
Has .380 ammo come back around in your area yet? Still very hard to come by on this side of the state yet.

Ha! I purchased a Smith lightweight hammerless for my wife and all five of my daughters..around 1990. Since that time I have updated them ALL to the .357 extreme lightweight hammerless with the laZer sight. All of them carry their guns at all times. And yeah some are known to have a bit of roadrage... One of them was having Brides pre wedding party one year. We loaned her our "good times Van" to carry 9 young ladies to a male stripper club in San Antonio.. At the last minute I thought what a seedy place they were going to! I rushed out to the Van while it was backing out of our driveway. I inquired of the sister driving if she had her "protection".. there were laughs around the van and they started counting...the 9 young ladies had a total of 11 pistols in the Van.. (2 were police ladys and carried two pistols each) I pity the poor perp that would have messed with them! As for Ammo. Since it became obvious that the Dems would win the election Ammo has been in real short supply. Since I don't plan on shooting the .380 much, I purchased a box of .90 grain HYDRO-SHOK JHP to carry in it. As for other ammo I keep thousands of rounds of .223, .308, 9MIL, .38, .45 and of course many other hunting rounds. I might be part of the cause of short supply at this time.. Supply is so short that all of the local gun ranges only sell ammo to be shot at their establishment. But if you need ammo it is available. I got a picture of this one inside one of the Dubai horse farms I take care of. ![[Linked Image]](http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii28/reepersteve/JEEPPICTURES.jpg) The guy was right at home there. No bubbles no troubles, kid.
