The selection of moderators is usually a collegial activity by the incumbent moderators. Sometimes it is the moderators for the specific forum, sometimes it is the moderators of the site as a group.
In the case of the addition of a new forum, such as this OT Forum, volunteers were solicited from the group of existing moderators.
When a moderator finds it necessary to resign, a decision is made as to whether or not there are enough moderators for the forum to proceed without a replacement.

The "official" name is still OutdoorWire.
We did a shift at one point to capitalize on the popularity of 4x4; hence, the focus is 4x4Wire.com. That proved to be a good thing.
While the site can be accessed through outdoorwire.com, there is a new kid on the block titled "theoutdoorwire.com" that is focused on hunting activities.
I have 4x4wire stickers. PM me with an address.

BTW, for those willing to contribute an article for publishing on the 4x4Wire.com portal, I am offering an embroidered 4x4wire.com denim shirt...

I came here back in 01' after I sold my CRX and got a 96 4Runner. I've met lots of great people over the years.
Anyone in the Cincinnati/NKY area who wants a 4x4wire sticker, feel free to PM me and I can give you one in person.
One thing I love about this forum is how well it works. Everybody is friendly, and we just all get along. And there arent a bunch of stupid posts asking stupid questions here. Everyone just seems to "get it"

New mods are also put through a rather invasive initiation. Not everyone survives. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />...be cool <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/oink.gif" alt="" />
