i got a 1987 toyota pickup 2wd 4speed tranny 22r motor i loveeee the truck but hate the slowness, so i know you can drop in a 7mgte and i got a connection into a 7mgte and 5speed tranny with about 400 hp at 18 lbs of boost, which i would prolly only be runnin 10 lbs but any ways would this be worth it? im thinkin that with this tiny truck im gonna have stupid traction problems could they be solved? im lookin to have a good vehicle for street/strip use and also be my daily driver (but at the same time not worried about gas milage)

You are likely going to want to run the 18lbs if you are expecting to put down 400hp at the rear wheels. Does the 7m come w/all of the supporting mods for the 400hp?
A couple 100lbs of sand or a water bag over the rear axle should help fix the traction problem.
More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else. '90 X-cab 4.88's 33 BFG AT's, rr ARB, Headers, Ignition upgrade, cold air induction. '91 X-cab 5.29's 315's BFG MT's, rr ARB, custom bumper and flatbed

Yea dude...do it. I want to get a 90's 2wd truck and put a big HP engine in it....either 7mgte or 1uzfe. Almost enough to sell my 88 4Runner..
Might want to upgrade to at least a 4wd 8" rear axle. Build a trackbar and some heavier duty leafs....or better yet, build a 4link setup.

Has anyone ever considered a 1jz-gte? I have seen half-cut supra's from japan for sale on the ebay motors for $1500. Now that would really wake it up.
