I don't see why someone couldn't re-badge one of these, and pass it off as a Rover. --- Although, just for the fun of it, personally, I think I'd slap an Isuzu emblem on mine!
In all seriousness, this does sort of open the door for me to ask the question: Why in the *Bleep-bleep-bleep* doesn’t Isuzu try their hand at building something like this?
It seems to be a big tease although more dealerships seem to be coming on board.
The CrossLander was supposed to be introduced mid to late last year but for some reason, keeps being pushed back and I see the turbodiesel option is pushed back another year.
Let's hope they get enough dealer/service network to make it practical to own. With a 4.0 and able to tow over 5,700#, it's on my list to watch. It just surprises me that it has drum rear brakes.
Not just stout, but quality. I'm not asking for Lexus quality, but if it has Yugo quality, they'd have to do like Inkjet printers: Give the crosslander away for $2000 and make the other $14,000 up on replacment parts.
1. "If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is." 2. "But that leaves a thin but real chance that you just lucked into a great deal."
Slimteufel, when i called in about these in Jan/Feb, a dealership in Savannah is one of like two or three in Georgia that were selling them... you're lucky to be so close!
Edit: P.S. Nice homepage in your profile hehehe

I dunno, folks. I'm a bit of a skeptic. Give up my P-port for something that looks just like a 'Rover? I dunno. That would be like, well, sacrelige!
Just got off the phone with my closest (proposed) dealer. MID-OCTOBER is the scheduled arrival date in Jacksonville/Green Cove Springs. Salesman offered to send me a brochure, but said he hasn't had much interest in the arrival.
With all the chrome H2's around here, there should be brisk business once they hit the lot - if the dealer installs the requisite bling-bling.
