Headers? 2.6 Gen I

Headers? 2.6 Gen I - 02/17/03 11:59 PM

I search the net and find Pacesetters. From my past experience, Pacesetters should be called "Rustsetters." Are the 2.6 headers any better quality?

Also, I did find one pic that mentions "John Baker Headers" Anyone have any info??

Thanks in advance!

Headers that are not Jet-Hotted = rust period.

You should get your headers ceramic coated. Otherwise any header will rust.

Also try here:

For John Baker stuff, try truckandtractor.com (I think that's it).

Thanks all! Speaking of coatings, check out Swain Technology - the next step above Jet Hot, some folks feel. Swain Tech

RD, hold the phone! Take a look at the Thorley tri-y's on my 5-speed, and you'll just see the seasoned chrome (not a show finish) before it gets down to the regular steel exhaust, where the real rust starts. Rust is not getting through that finish any time soon; well made product--it just doesn't do much for the otherwise stock engine to put them on.

Hi there ecp-76

I changed out my whole system and installed a fabricated set with the headers wrapped. <img src="http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/85848072/bc/My+Pajero/__hr_wrapped+header.jpg?bcJTjU.AqVjWewfW" alt=" - " />

Does anyone have any links for these? I've searched Truck & Tractor with no luck. Found that Doug Thorley apparently is pretty big in the jet ski scene though! Also, the RPW site doesn't have our vehicles listed (no Montero anything and not much in the way of 2.6 stuff).

Is this going to be a product they'll need to special order, so nothing is posted on their sites? Thanks!!

ecp, recheck the rpw site from here:
http://www.rpw.com.au/New%20Website/MP001.htm

Search for "extractors" which is Aussie for headers. They have a US dealer you'll have to buy thru. Vision performance or something like that.

In a weak moment, I put myself on a waiting list for the Thorleys to be made in a limited run. About nine months later, I got a call that they had two sets left, and did I want one? Well, sure! It just didn't do much for the overall experience, but man it looks good.
