hey guys.

A friend of mine had a problem with is sporty - on serious acceleration it was lacking in power. everything was checked - sensors - catalitic converter - all were fine. finally he noticed that as the years pass - the lining on the inner part of the hood tends to sag and block the air intake. 10 minutes later and one pair of scissors - the sporty was back on its feet!

This was written about a few years ago on the forum but it is a good reminder of something else to check!!

I'll have to check mine. I know it's sagging enough that it is rubbing on the plastic engine cover.

That was one of the first things to go when I got mine. It looks a lot cleaner that way...

It gets sub zero in the winter where I live. So I have to retain mine to aid with keeping the lil 4-banger up to temp.
Good write up though.
