That's a great resource!!! Can someone maybe find where it says how to change the fuel filter on the V6?

Re: Online Factory Service Manual - 07/20/05 08:15 AM
Thanks for making that a sticky; I think I've posted that link at least once a week for awhile now.
It's got 2.4, 2.7, and 3.4 info; look at the applications carefully for your truck.
2.4 in the newer 2wds maybe??

That maintenance page is great but I think he leaves steps out of the fuel fitler procedure. He never says if he opend the gas cap first (I have always done that before changing a fuel filter), there's no mention of how much gas you lose before the flow stops, etc. I'm not trying to pick on 30k maintainence site at all, I like it very much, I'm just looking for something a little more in-depth and thurough.

Re: Online Factory Service Manual - 07/21/05 05:57 AM
I was referring to the FSM link, not the tech page. FWIW, the FSM doesn't tell you about what you're looking for; it's called experience with some of that stuff. My FSM for my carbie Toy doesn't tell you to loosen the cap for a filter change either.
Don't gripe too loudly; you didn't have this kind or level of information available to you barely 10 years ago.

Re: SPARK PLUG GAP - 03/10/06 09:08 PM
It has been decided that the spark plug gap for the
2004 Tacoma 2RZ 4 cyl is 0.043-0.044"
using NGK BKR5EYA-11 or DENSO K16R-U11 plugs
Information in the FSM link above or your owners manual is incorrect.

Re: Online Factory Service Manual - 06/06/06 11:30 PM
I agree, I didn't know where the fuel filter was but that does help, I'll be changing it in the near future.

Re: Online Factory Service Manual - 06/07/06 03:28 PM
Honestly, changing the fuel filter is not too technical. Safety must be a priority, but beyond that it's just simply unbolting the old and installing the new one. As stated in the link, just break the fitting loose until it starts to drip, then go do something else until it stops. You won't get sprayed

As a mechanic, I'm always browsing the web for helpful technical info; so I'll share this one with ya'll too. Just click on the ARRC auto repair reference center link; they have online manuals for about anything with wheels.

Re: Online Factory Service Manual - 03/27/07 06:13 AM
It's NOT. Read the text there. You're like a couple other peeps who've asked me; you're trying to access it thru a firewall. Follow de-structions.
Posted By: RichinROA
Re: Online Factory Service Manual - 03/27/07 02:28 PM
Ive READ the text there, and I don't think that's it. I'm WELL aware of the difference between a proxy/firewall authentication login screen and an application login screen.
Many of the other library links returned when you Google "ebscohost arrc" are asking for library card numbers, ID/PW, also. Its a subscription service that libraries provide to patrons, it ain't free.
I'm assuming somebody at these libraries or ebsco didn't appreciate the bandwidth usage, and shut it down. Also, I don't have access to our firewall exception list...as I hope not just anybody has access to theirs either.
[color:"red"]EDIT [/color]
I just checked from home, and same thing. DB login prompt. Can anyone else verify this link anymore...just to let me know I ain't crazy????

Re: Online Factory Service Manual - 12/16/07 03:34 PM
The first manual for 85-94 does not download as in a zip file content, but it does download as a pdf. Properties says it contains large file, but there is no image on any of the pages. All the other files downloaded as zip files and view correctly. Super info!! Just wish I could this one other file please.
Thanks for your time,
Al

Wow-- with all this, Mark might need to do what I did in the early trucks section, and revise the sticky. I can put those '95-earlier links over there, if there isn't already some duplications.

I am a little disappointed that I have not been able to find any information on the rear diff lock on the link that includes the 99 Tacoma.
Is there another source for this missing bit of information?

Thanks for any help someone can share.
