The sun is out and so is my car. (video)

After about a month of rain and a week of trouble with my Montero and putting off work, I said [email]F@#k[/email] it and went for a cruise.

She hasn't been out in a couple of months.

I got more video but the camera was bumping up against the windscreen making a god-awful clunking.

Some problems just can't be solved without a little inspiration. After my cruise today I went back to the Montero and found the problem.

A broken <edit> Fuse was hiding from me and today I found it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ALL grins.

The E-Type is beautiful and Enzo Ferrari himself is quoted as saying it was the best looking car ever. Don't be fooled by it's expensive looks though, a new F-350 costs much more.

I love the sound of straight cut gears but the lack of synchros on first gear makes it near impossible to down-shift into first while rolling.

I took her down a few winding roads but the camera kept clunking the windscreen and falling in my lap. That footage is of the last few blocks of my run. The first portion of video is of me going around the block and discovering smoke in the cab. No worries though....it was just some residue on the exhaust manifold.

Eventually I'll have somebody else get some video of me drifting her through a turn or something more exciting anyway. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> Right now I baby her around and just polish her up for shows. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

Hey Reuben, you should share pics and footage of your touring car. I bet you have some track footage somewhere we all want to see.

I fail at cinematography,

You know, I'm really bad at things like that. Some friends of mine took some video at a couple of autocrosses, but I never saw it. Even after a decade of bike racing I only had 3 pictures and now only have 1 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I have thought about shooting some video from inside my car. May be I will now. I used to drift it everyday, but there were so many cops around here for a while that I got out of the habit. I'll see what I can come up with <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

No question that the Brits were the best in getting good sounds out of an engine.

The XK and its engine inspired Toyota way back in the early '60s to develop the 2000GT sports car and a similar engine which eventually became the DOHC 5M and 7M Series Inline 6 .. Awesome engines also.

3.8L I-6 4speed Moss gear box. They claimed the car would do 150 but American cars were geared to keep up with Stingrays in the 1/4 mile. IT has an independent rear LSD with torsion bars up front. The rear is unique because it utilizes the drive shaft as an upper control arm. The car is an old 50s era track car with just enough stuff to make it roadable.

Mine is a 63 Etype Series 1. This article is accurate for the most part.
