Press Release from Darlington Off-Road Products
Mountain Home, ID - June 3, 2000 |
Darlington Off-Road Products announces the release of their new UB SKIDDERZ, high clearance U-Bolt plates.
UB SKIDDERZ are designed to increase ground clearance underneath vehicles with leaf-springs. The plates benefit these vehicles by moving the u-bolts from underneath the spring plate where they can be easily damaged, to the sides of the leaf-springs, increasing clearance and protecting the U-bolts. The plates also move the shock mounting tabs, one of the lowest-slung parts underneath most leaf-sprung vehicles, upward between 1-1/2 and 3-1/2 inches from the stock position, depending on the style of UB SKIDDERZ plate chosen. UB SKIDDERZ come in two styles, top-mount and side-mount. The top-mount will allow for the use of stock-length shocks even with a lift.
UB SKIDDERZ are currently available for 1991 - 1997 Isuzu Rodeos, 1989 - 1994 Isuzu Amigos, pre-1992 Isuzu Troopers and 1988 - 1995 Isuzu P'ups. UB SKIDDERZ are made from 3/8" steel plate and are coated with urethane paint, providing a durable finish, and come with new heavy-duty U-bolts. For a limited time, shipping is free.
The company is currently in the design phase for the following vehicles: Jeep CJ, International Harvester Scout 80/800, and the Nissan Xterra. Models for other vehicles will be produced based on market demand.
